The Commission Is Clear

Before Jesus ascended, He left His followers with a command — not a suggestion. "Go and make disciples of all nations." That command belongs to every generation, and it belongs to us.

At Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, missions is woven into who we are. We give to support the global work of the Southern Baptist Convention through the Cooperative Program. We send teams on mission trips. We serve our neighbors right here in Jones and Wayne County. And we invest in the next generation through programs like Vacation Bible School.

The same Gospel that changed our lives is the Gospel the world needs to hear. We're committed to taking it there — together.

Local Outreach

Our community is our first mission field. We serve Jones and Wayne County through practical outreach, community events, and ministry to our neighbors — because loving people near us is part of following Jesus.

Mission Trips

Pleasant Grove sends teams to share the Gospel beyond our county lines. Whether crossing state lines or international borders, our people go — because the Great Commission has no boundaries.

As a Southern Baptist church, every dollar we give through the Cooperative Program funds thousands of missionaries, church plants, seminaries, and disaster relief efforts around the world — together, we reach further than any one church can alone.

Annual Event

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, Pleasant Grove opens its doors to children in our community for Vacation Bible School — a week of Bible teaching, fun, and Gospel proclamation for the next generation.

VBS 2026 was June 7–9 — three nights of Bible stories, crafts, games, and Gospel truth. Thank you to every family and volunteer who made it happen. We can't wait for next summer!

Around the World

El Salvador Partnership

Pleasant Grove partners with our missionary, Pastor George, to support the churches of his region in El Salvador. Each year since 2023, our teams have traveled to come alongside Pastor George and the area's congregations — teaching, serving, leading children's ministry, and encouraging the local body of Christ.

The Great Commission has no boundaries, and neither does this friendship. We're committed to El Salvador for the long haul — and there's a seat on the next trip for you.
